We are trying to get the rooms ready for the re-finishing and re-staining of the hard wood floors and we need all the space we can get to store the furniture. So we decided to move the microwave into its new home even though there is still no electricity (see past posts on that one). At least it gets it off the floor and out of the way.
The decision for the microwave was a little difficult. Looks were a big consideration since most microwaves are bulky. Plus we didn’t want to pay the steep prices for those fancy dancy higher end ones. We decided to go with Ikea’s “Nutid” microwave in stainless steel, not that this was a bargain. I didn’t realize how crazy expensive microwaves can be! We chose the Nutid because we loved the look, the fact that the door pulls down like an oven and its euro design. You will see when all the appliances get installed that we decided on a mish- mash of product lines. We went with appliances we liked, were good performers and, of course, looked good. Uniformity went out the window a long time ago.
One thing is for sure- it’s going to be a pain in the you-know-what to keep this thing from showing fingerprints.
